Program Description

  Montgomery County Green Bank

The Montgomery County Green Bank seeks to leverage public and private investments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and is funded with both County and private money. Residents and businesses can obtain financing for things like weatherization, high efficiency HVAC systems, and renewable and clean energy projects. Bill 44-21 requires the County to appropriate 10 percent of the revenue received by the County from the fuel energy tax each year to the Montgomery County Green Bank, although the final appropriation is subject to County Council approval.
