Description

This project provides funding to identify and install up to 40 historical markers recognizing significant locations related to African American history throughout the County. An advisory committee will be established to select the locations for the historical markers.

Justification

This project is intended to complete work initially programmed under the Maryland-National Park and Planning Commission. African American Historical Markers project was initiated in 2016, and a story map was developed to guide the creation of markers.
