Based on the KFI assessment data, various building systems upgrades/replacements and programmatic requirements are needed for this school. Therefore, an FY 2023 appropriation was approved for the architectural planning and design for this project. As part of the Board of Education's Requested FY2025-2030 CIP, construction funds were included in this project, as well as a completion date of August 2028. However, due to fiscal constraints, as part of the County Council's approved FY 2025-2030 CIP, construction expenditures were shifted to the outyears of the CIP with a "to be determined" completion date. An appropriation for construction funds will be considered in a future CIP.

MCPS asserts that this project conforms to the requirement of relevant local plans, as required by the Maryland Economic Growth, Resource Protection and Planning Act.
