anchor Description
The project is to build a 3,600 (60 feet x 60 feet) square feet hangar, which the Revenue Authority will own, on the North End portion of the Airpark property. This hangar is part of the current Airport Layout Plan and has undergone a Federal Aviation Administration Environmental Review. The funding for the project is part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill.
anchorCost Change
Cost increase reflects the addition of construction costs to the project scope.
anchor Justification
Due to a recent environmental assessment from the FAA and talks with the Revenue Authority Airport Consultant, the FAA has identified a need to build a new hanger on the North End portion of the Airpark property. The project is primarily funded by the FAA, with a small contribution from the Revenue Authority. The Revenue Authority will lose this funding if they do not start the project before December 2025.
Federal Aviation Administration grant assurances require the MCRA to allow for the opportunity for competition at the Airpark. The Airpark Community Advisory Committee 2025 report cited the need for improved economic development. There is demand for hangar development.
