Scope

BACKGROUND

The Department of Transportation, Division of Parking Management, Operations Section, is responsible for enforcement of all parking regulations, on and off street, in both commercial business and residential areas, as contained in Chapter 31 of The Montgomery County Code, and various Executive Regulations and Administrative Procedure directives issued by the County Executive and other authorized persons. It also formulates and administers a variety of parking programs designed to complement the total parking/transportation management policies of the County providing necessary revenue to operate current parking facilities, fund future structure, and allowing optimum utilization of available parking spaces.

 INTENT

It is the intent of the County to enter into a contract with a qualified, experienced, financially sound firm capable of providing all operative requirements, necessary equipment, trained personnel and experienced supervision to competently enforce these regulations by the issuance of parking violation citations and to assist in the implementation of and public compliance with the various parking programs of the County.
