Scope

This project, located in Silver Spring, Montgomery County, is for the addition of a secure bicycle storage area to an existing parking garage, adjacent to existing stair and elevator. Work includes a new level floor slab and ramp, security fencing, bicycle self-repair station, bicycle storage racks, signage and new lighting. The Silver Spring Secure Bike Storage facility is designed as a fun, safe, and welcoming gathering place for commuter cyclists as well as recreational cyclists visiting downtown Silver Spring, The facility includes a gathering/seating area for cyclists to sit and gather with their friends while they prepare for their ride or to store their bicycle. Fix-it stations are located both inside and outside the secure storage area ensuring members and non-members have access to tools and tire pumps. Colorful graphics create a playful atmosphere and create interest to passerby's who will be intrigued to learn more about the facility and hopefully encouraged them to consider cycling and to use the facility.

The work will consist of the following:
(a) Demolition and removal of the existing concrete.
(b) Construction of a new level floor slab with ramp.
(c) Construction of new security fencing.
(d) Installation of bicycle self-repair station.
(e) Installation of new signage and lighting.
