Scope

The project, located in Derwood, Montgomery County, MD, is for the replacement of Bridge No. M-0056, a two-lane bridge carrying Redland Road over Mill Creek. The work will consist of the following:
(a) Relocate the existing water and sewer utilities below Mill Creek per the WSSC plans.
(b) Install 12” casing pipe below Mill Creek per the Washington Gas plans.
(c) Removal of the existing 27’-8” +/- wide concrete bridge.
(d) Install a new, 48’-0” wide bridge comprised of precast non voided, concrete slabs, abutments, and wing walls.
(e) Mill and resurface 215 LF of the existing roadway.
(f) Full depth pavement reconstruction for 50 LF
(g) 363 LF of W-beam traffic barrier with anchorage to the proposed bridge structure and three (3) Type C end treatments.
(h) 112 LF of Type A combination curb and gutter.
(i) One (1) Type E combination inlet.
(j) Installation of 15.9 LF 15” RCP storm drain pipe.
(k) Stream restoration along approximately 375 LF of Mill Creek as shown on the plans.
(l) Tree planting as shown on the plans.
(m) Installation of pavement markings and signs.
