Scope

The intent of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to enter into a contract with one (1) contractor to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, permits and fees required to provide traffic signal and fiber optic outside plant construction and repair services on an “as needed basis” during the contract period for the Department of Transportation, Division of Traffic Engineering and Operations.  

The resultant Contract is for the furnishing and installing of traffic signal services related to the construction and modification of traffic signal and devices, Pedestrian Hybrid Beacons (PHB), Hazard Identification Beacons (HIB), Intersection Control Beacons (ICB), Pedestrian Activated Warning Beacons, School Flashers and the installation of Advanced Traffic Management field devices. Additional services include construction, repairs and maintenance of Fiber Optic outside plant (OSP) and traffic signal communication cables at various locations in Montgomery County as determined by the County. The work activities include the following general categories of assignments:

The Contractor shall (within specified tolerances) perform all work in accordance with the lines, grades, typical cross sections, dimensions, and other data shown on the Plans or as modified by written orders including the furnishing of all materials, implements, machinery, equipment, tools, supplies, transportation, labor, and all other things necessary to the satisfactory prosecution and completion of the project in full compliance with the Contract requirements.
