Scope

Montgomery County, Maryland ("the County") through its Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Child Welfare Services (CWS) receives and investigates reports of possible child abuse and neglect; provides services to families that need assistance in the safety and care of their children; arranges for children to live with relatives or with foster families when they are not safe at home; and arranges for reunification, adoption, or other permanent family connections for children and youth leaving foster care. Many of these services are provided, in collaboration with foster and adoptive parents.

CWS has an ongoing need to book travel (e.g., air, train, car rental) arrangements and hotel lodging for agency staff traveling on official business as well as family members of children in foster care whose travel may be sponsored, in whole or in part, by the County; and, foster youth and other children in the care and custody of CWS that must travel to non-local destinations and/or require emergency hotel lodging in the absence of an appropriate residential placement provider.
