This Invitation for Bids is to establish a contract with Montgomery County (Department of Transportation Division of Highway Services) for furnishing, fabricating, and transporting of structural steel bridge planks, structural rolled steel members, reinforcing bars, miscellaneous steel, and other metal accessories. The contract bid price must be submitted for the desired Group(s) and will be the full compensation for furnishing, fabricating, and transporting of steel bridge planks to be used for structural support or decking on bridges and overpasses (Group I); structural steel shapes including angles, channels, wide flange beams, etc. (Group II); rebars (Group III) and miscellaneous metal components needed to perform the repairs to deteriorated manhole covers, gratings, drains, etc. (Group IV).

Bidders are not required to bid on all Groups; however, bidders are required to submit a bid price for all pay items on the Quotation Sheet for their selected Group or be deemed non-responsive and have their bid submission for this Group rejected.

All materials provided as part of this solicitation will be delivered to various work sites located within the political boundaries of Montgomery County, Maryland. All materials and services furnished under the terms of this Invitation for Bids and subsequent contract must conform to the conditions and specifications provided in the Maryland Department of Transportation, State Highway Administration’s latest edition of the Standard Specifications for Construction and Materials, and revisions and additions thereto; and compliance with the most current edition of the AASHTO specifications.
