The Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection, Recycling and Resource Management Division (RRM), Resource Conversion Section, purchased four GEM electric vehicles in 2022 to replace site-specific diesel-powered vehicles as part of the County’s environmental stewardship goals of reduction of greenhouse gasses, and sustainable behaviors, and to comply with environmental attributes. These vehicles require periodic maintenance, parts replacements, and repairs on an ongoing basis. Their current location is the County’s Transfer Station in Derwood. The County may add more vehicles to its current fleet and/or have the vehicles at one or more other locations.

The County intends to enter a contract with one qualified Contractor that must provide parts, maintenance, service, and repairs for GEM electric vehicles.  A sample of the contract the County expects to issue is provided as Attachment E.
