Scope

Application of Slurry Seal, Crack Sealant, and Asphalt Mix Products on Primary and Residential Roadways

This Invitation for Bids will establish required contract(s) unit priced items related to the required work and safety improvements of Application of Slurry Seal, Crack Sealant, and Asphalt Mix Products on Primary and Residential Roadways. The work and safety 
improvements shall include but not be limited to partial and full depth patching in one or multiple lifts, adjusting/replacing utility structures, the application of rubberized crack fill, application of one or multiple coats of latex modified Slurry Seal or Micro-surfacing, re-striping and/or other pavement markings and other work as determined by the County. Tar and chip This Contract may include the milling of partial and full depth patches and the length, width, depth of patching as well as the applicable asphalt mix bands shall be determined solely by the County. The repair and/or replacement of infrastructure components are limited to those identified by the Contract Administrator or Designee. Asphalt Patching within this contract is defined as removing failed sections or entire road lengths and/or widths as determined by the County Contract Administrator or Designee. Removal and replacement of all bound material and installation of new asphalt must take place concurrently, meaning as the material is being removed, the placement of the new material must happen continuously without interruption following directly behind the milling or excavation. Any milled or excavated patch must have new material placed and compacted before the end of each workday. Any utility that is identified as needing adjusted or replaced, must be adjusted, or replaced prior to any patching taking place. Work under this Contract will be located within the political boundaries of Montgomery County, Maryland.
