The Montgomery County Department of Correction and Rehabilitation (DOCR) is soliciting bids for qualified and licensed barber /beautician in Montgomery County, Maryland to provide barber and hairdressing services to inmates inside the correctional facilities.

The DOCR operates the Montgomery County Detention Center located at 1307 Seven Locks Road, Rockville, MD, and the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Boyds, MD. The combined average daily population is approximately 645 inmates, of which less than 10% are women. The DOCR practices social distancing in all the correctional facilities. Temperature checks are taken before anyone is permitted into the buildings and masks are required to be worn at all times. Hand washing is encouraged frequently, and hand sanitizing stations are available throughout the buildings.

The Contractor must have a minimum of five (5) licensed barbers/beauticians experienced with cutting and styling hair for men and women, and hair types of various ethnicities. The Contractor must be capable of executing various hair-style cuts as well as special services including braiding, pressing and curling.
