Scope

This work is for furnishing Cold Patch Material produced in bulk and stockpiled to be loaded onto County trucks, and for furnishing Cold Patch Material in 40-pound, 50-pound, or 60-pound bags to be delivered on pallets to the MCDOT, Division of Highway Services Gaithersburg Depot. The County will provide personnel and equipment to assist with the unloading of Cold Mix Material delivered on pallets.


Cold Patch Materials (CPM), including Water-Activated Cold Patch Material (WACPM), are high performance asphalt patching materials used to repair potholes, deteriorated concrete, and asphalt pavement in all seasons. The material shall be capable of making permanent repairs with minimal effort and with minimal disruption to traffic. CPM/WACPM are produced by approved manufacturers using specially formulated binders. The Cold Patch Material furnished shall have a minimum storage life of 12 months.


All materials and services furnished under the terms of this Invitation for Bids and subsequent contract must conform to the conditions and specifications provided in the Maryland Department of Transportation, State Highway Administration’s latest edition of the “Standard Specifications for Construction and Materials” and all additions and revisions thereto; and compliance with the latest Edition of the AASHTO specifications and revisions thereto. Material products source of supply and product data sheets of all materials proposed for use in this contract must be submitted for approval to the County within five (5) calendar days after award of the contract.
