The County may, but is not required to, award one contract for a maximum of one hundred (100) 40-foot low floor battery-electric transit buses. Estimated timing of acquisitions is 39 buses in FY23, 16 buses in FY24 and 45 buses in FY25. The quantity of buses purchased and scheduling will be influenced by numerous factors, notably the Montgomery County Council’s approval of budget appropriations, approval by MCDOT, and approval by the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT). The County makes no guarantees of any minimum number of purchases. Unused Options may be made available to other transit properties.
