This Solicitation is Reserved for the Local Small Business Reserve Program
The Gilchrist Center is a gateway for Montgomery County's immigrants. Our center provides information and referrals to programs and services offered by government agencies and community organizations. Our aim is to strengthen immigrant communities' life skills through English and basic computer classes, and increase their knowledge to prepare for civic life and/or U.S. citizenship. The Gilchrist Center operates at three sites in Wheaton, Gaithersburg, and East County.
The English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program takes place three times per year in the spring, fall, and winter, and offers English language instruction to adults (18 years old and above) living in Montgomery County. We offer evening and Saturday classes, online and in-person, for eight weeks each session.
The ESOL program, taught by volunteer teachers, has been running at the Gilchrist Center since the Center's inception, and has served thousands of community members.
This Solicitation names ESOL textbooks/workbooks and teaching resources from four levels of the Ventures series, plus book resources for teachers by Penny Ur, Scott Thornbury, Craig Chaudron, and Simon Borg.
