The Montgomery County Council is interested in retaining the services of a qualified independent consultant to provide support to a Councilmember office. The role will assist the Councilmember and office staff by providing communications support. The work will include developing weekly content plans, creating and modifying graphics for social media, newsletters, and legislative initiatives. In addition, this role will research and develop online content to highlight the Councilmember’s legislative and policy priorities. Specifically, the consultant will:

• Serve as primary communications lead and maintain the content calendar for weekly social media and bi-monthly newsletters.
• Provide informational graphics as needed to support legislative initiatives, priority events, and observations at the Council or in the community.
• Work collaboratively with Council Office Staff to develop content and maintain professional standards across the website, social media, newsletter, outreach material, and policy documents.
• Develop and maintain ongoing communications visual standards, branding, and creative assets.
• Generate analytics reports and develop benchmarks for increasing reach and improving content engagement.
