LIBERAL LEAVE

Montgomery County Government offices and departments will remain OPEN Wednesday, December 16, 2020 according to their normal operating schedules with optional LIBERAL LEAVE for nonessential employees effective 7:00 AM through midnight. 1. Employees who are designated as essential employees are required to report to work as normal during the December 16th Liberal Leave. 2. Essential employees who have been working remotely (situational or regular telework) are expected to continue to work remotely during the December 16th Liberal Leave. 3. Department Directors may designate a nonessential employee to be an essential employee based on their role in responding to the ongoing health crisis. 4. Nonessential employees must notify their supervisors of their intent to use appropriate leave without prior supervisory approval. 5. Nonessential employees who have been working remotely (situational or regular telework) are expected to work, take leave, or a combination of both. Telework-approved employees not scheduled to telework may request unscheduled telework from their supervisor for all or, in combination with leave, part of the workday.
