Registration for the online Application Session is not available yet. In order to limit potential virus exposure and improve security, the MPDU office is developing a confidential online system for submitting new and renewal certificate applications. Further information about the online Application Session and new procedures for submitting application materials will be available in September. Please check the website for updates.

MPDU Application Session Signup

Note: MPDU Applications are NOT given out at the Application Session. Applications are only given out at the end of the MPDU Orientation Seminar to people registered for and attending that MPDU Orientation Seminar.

At the MPDU Application Session, your completed MPDU application and all supporting documents will be reviewed while you hear a brief presentation. Applications that are complete and include all required documentation will be accepted for processing. A certificate of eligibility will be mailed within 4 weeks of application is submitted. If your application is incomplete or missing documentation, your application will be returned to you, along with a list of the incomplete information and documentation. You may be asked to re-submit your complete application at a future application session or requested to mail the required information and documents to the MPDU Office at the following address:

Applicants must not sign up for the MPDU Application Session until they have all required documents and attended the required classes:

  1. First Time Homebuyer Certificate (COPY).
  2. ORIGINAL Mortgage Pre-Qualification Letter from an HOC participating lender.
  3. Tax Returns: COPY of the most recent Federal income tax return(s) with all schedules and W-2 or 1099-M forms.
  4. Paystubs: Copies of the two (2) most recent pay stubs. If self-employed a notarized Year-To-Date summary of income and expenses.
  5. Proof of residence: If your current taxes do not show your current address (copy of lease or utility bill).
  6. Other documents for specials situations (download list).
All MPDU Application Sessions will be held at 1401 Rockville Pike, 4th Floor, Rockville, MD 20852. At least one adult member of each household must attend. Childcare is not provided, so please do not bring children to the seminar. Children under the age of 18 are not permitted to act as interpreters for other household members.

Parking for the application session is available in the building garage; G1 and G2 levels. Parking is free after the ticket is validated after the end of the session.

Note: If you are a current MPDU certificate holder and wish to renew your application, click here. Space is limited, and the remaining available appointments are shown for each session. If a particular session is full, you must select a different session. After registering, you will receive a confirmation web page and email with your registration number. Please print the confirmation page and email and keep them for your records. You can use the registration number to cancel your registration online if you are unable to attend.

If you are having difficulty signing up, you may visit the MPDU office between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. for assistance. Hearing-impaired individuals who are in need of sign language interpretation must call (240) 777-0311 at least two weeks prior to the seminar they wish to attend.
